Cherry Rocher Guinettes are pitted and semi-candied cherries steeped in kirsch (cherry brandy). In France, they are traditionally enjoyed with coffee after dinner but they are also delicious with ice cream and fruity sorbets. Add them to chilled coupes or flutes and top with sparkling wine for an elegant aperitif.
These cherries are a great addition to fruit salads, cheesecakes, tarts and cakes. They pair beautifully with chocolate because their sharp, fruity flavour cuts through its richness. Try adding them to squidgy chocolate brownies or the retro favourite, Black Forest gâteau.
Guinettes are great for cocktails and can also be used in savoury dishes. Add them to a rich red wine sauce to serve with roast duck or pan-fried pork chops.
